Chapter 7 Models

What are models in simulation?

Models in a simulation environment are mathematical representation in a virtual form to reflect key parameters of the physical model.

Models in an EMC simulation setup are electrical behavioral representation of the components of the setup that influence the simulation result .

Every component of the setup that will influence the test results have to be modeled for their electrical behavior for the operating condition of the test.

These models can be divided into passive models and active models, based on if they are linear or nonlinear in behavior.
